  THIS WALK IS PART OF THE FESTIVAL OF WALKS

  4km walk on tracks.  old-growth eucalypt forest, rainforest and creek cascades.  Bring water, lunch, boots, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent,  binoculars and togs if you wish to swim. The walk is free but please phone Barung (5494 3151) to book and for details of where to meet.

• 2010 Queensland Landcare Conference

  Register now for the 21st annual Queensland Landcare Conference to be held in Caloundra, 15 – 17 September.  With the theme Celebrating 21 years of Landcare the conference will explore the progress, achievements and future opportunities under themes such as sustainable farming systems; indigenous landcare management; climate change; landcare as business; biodiversity; and more.  The three day program will include field trips; plenary sessions; interactive workshops; and a 21st birthday celebration for landcare in Queensland.  Early bird registrations close 16 August 2010.

  Barung will be at this years event.
  
  The fourth annual Caloundra Music Festival will be held over the weekend of 8 - 10 October.  This not for profit family-friendly community event celebrates the environment, cultural achievements and community pride of the Caloundra area.  The beautiful Kings Beach and surrounds will come alive to the sounds of a diverse line-up of entertainment featuring the best of the Australian music industry as well as famous international artists.  A colourful street parade, roving performers, beach-side carnival, buskers, free children's entertainment and a stroll in The Village complete the experience.
