On the path to resilience - restoring rainforest and bringing back the Southern Pink Underwing Moth

Workshop | Rainforest Revegetation Planning

with Cam Burton & Megan Lee

Are you actively restoring rainforest on your land and planning to carry out revegetation activities in the coming months?

Join Barung Landcare nursery manager Cam Burton and Megan Lee for a free workshop to help you plan your rainforest revegetation projects for 2022, and access free native rainforest plants for this planting season.

As part of our Landcare-led Bushfire Recovery project On the path to resilience - restoring rainforest and bringing back the Southern Pink Underwing Moth, Barung Landcare has been able to increase nursery production and as a result, we are pleased to be able to offer up to 10,000 local native rainforest plants to local landholders who are actively carrying out rainforest restoration projects on their land.

This workshop invites landholders who would like to plan their revegetation projects and place plant orders for this coming planting season (from now up to April 2022).

A simple planning template will be supplied prior to the workshop, and on the evening we will work through this with you to help you get the most out of your revegetation project.

What will be covered in the workshop:

  • Planning your revegetation project (template will be supplied)
  • When and where to plant
  • Species selection
  • Southern Pink Underwing Moth Habitat
  • Protecting your revegetation project
  • Free plant ordering process

When: Wednesday the 15th of December

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Venue: Maleny RSL, 1 Bunya St, Maleny

Cost: Free

    Who is this project for?

    • This project is specifically for landholders in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with rainforest vegetation on their property who would like to carry out revegetation activities up to April 2022. Revegetation activities must be complete by April 29 2022
    • There is no minimum size requirement of this vegetation community on your property to participate in this project
